Winona Youth Wrestling coach Bill Schmidt and two members of the Winona Senior High School Wrestling Team gave Ridgeway's Kindergarten to 5th-grade students a wrestling demonstration this morning. They talked about the history of the sport and opportunities for boys and girls to participate in this sport which is growing in popularity. Following their demonstration, the Winona Senior High Wrestlers allowed some Ridgeway students to wrestle them. Stay tuned for highlights of these high-energy matches. Winona Youth Wrestling is offering some free youth wrestling sessions between Thanksgiving and Christmas time. Registration for the youth wrestling programs is available through the Winona Community Education.
