2024 Summer Kids Club is
gearing up for a Great Summer!
Ridgeway Community School will once again offer a comprehensive Summer Child Care program for students entering Kindergarten through students entering 7th Grade. Children DO NOT have to be enrolled at Ridgeway Community School in order to attend our Summer Kids Club child care program. We also have limited openings for preschoolers who have completed one full year of a center-based preschool program. However, spots in this program are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first, serve basis. All students attending Ridgeway's Summer Kids Club program must be "potty trained" and be able to use the bathroom independently.
2024 Summer Program features include:
Days of Operation: The program runs from 6:30 am - 5:30 pm: Monday - Friday beginning June 4th and tentatively ending on August 23rd*. There will be no childcare on July 4th to 8th. The program will once again be under the direction of Mrs. Laurie Sennes This year we plan to be back to a full field trip schedule including outings to area parks, attractions, events, and swimming pools. We have weekly themes with activities, learning, and crafts tied into the theme. There are structured activities each day as well as plenty of time for free choice and creative play. *The last day of the 2024 Summer Kids Club Program will be determined once the RCS 2024-25 academic calendar is approved in April 2024. Fees: The daily rates for the Summer of 2024 are the same as they were for 2023.

We will have regular assistance by other our experienced Ridgeway Community School staff members. Clothing: This year we will assign children who are attending our program weekly their own larger locker in the hallway by the bathrooms. Siblings will share these lockers. This will allow participants to leave outerwear or a change of clothes in the school at all times. Please also note that we ask that all those children attending summer kids club bring or wear closed toed shoes or sandals that do not require tying every day, unless they are able to keep their shoes tied tightly in double by themselves. We try to do a lot of outdoor activities and in order for your child to participate safely they need to have sturdy shoes. [There are a wide variety of shoes that have Velcro or elastic closures, and shoe lace accessories that do not require students to have to regularly tie their shoes and therefore reduce their expose their laces to germs on the bathroom and other floors.] Library: Our club participants will be able to use the RCS library on a weekly basis and will be allowed to sign out books once we have received a signed parent permission form. Parents are responsible for the cost of replacing any lost or damaged books. Sign in and Sign out – In order for you to be billed properly for your child’s use of our program, please accompany your child into school each day and come in to pick them up at the end of the day while making sure to sign them in and out on using the ProCare software program on the program's laptop.
